A zoomie playground or a peaceful haven. Make it yours.
Two private, fully-fenced fields in the Highlands. Book a slot, bring your dog (and your boots), and let them have a proper run about. No other dogs, no surprises, just yours and the trees.
Not a dog park. A field you hire.
Let's start with what these aren't. They're not dog parks. Dog parks are open to anyone at any time and the fence is anyone's guess. The Field and The Glade are the opposite — private, securely fenced, and booked by the hour. No-one else can come in unless you've invited them. No surprise passers-by, no awkward introductions, no high alert.
We've both been the owner standing at a gate, wondering if the latch is properly closed. That's why we built these. So you can stop wondering, put the lead away, and actually watch your dog have a brilliant hour.
Who comes to play
The short answer is everyone, and the long answer is: a lot more people than you'd think.
Most people assume a safe field is just for reactive dogs. It's one reason of many. Plenty of our regulars have dogs with no recall yet, no road sense, a busy nose, or a prey drive that turns every squirrel into a personal mission. Plenty have dogs recovering from surgery or illness, or seniors who'd rather pootle and tootle than zoom. New pups and new rescues come to figure out what the outside world is, away from other dogs' energy. Females in season come because they should get a run-around too. Two-dog households come because one wants zoomies and the other wants a wander, and the field is big enough for both.
Honestly, most of the time it's the owners who need it. Improve owner confidence is the most common answer in our wee survey on the booking form. We're not surprised. We've been the owner standing at the gate. That's why we built these.
The field is yours for the hour. You can train without anyone watching, practise recall without consequences, distract them through a confidence wobble, or just sit on a bench and let them get on with it. Bring the kids, bring the in-laws, bring a thermos. The fences mean no-one escapes, including the kids.
Two fields to choose from
They're different. Pick the one that suits you and your dog today.
The Field, Inverness
Just over four acres of open grass, a sensory area, agility kit, three shelters. Closer to Inverness. Has a (temperamental) tap.
The Glade, Rothiemurchus
Three acres of secure woodland in the Cairngorms. Pine, moss, mystery, and a fence around the lot of it. Bring your own water.
